I\'m beginning to crave the SE IV music...
The strangest thing is happening...
At first I hated the supplied music - but now I'm just starting to crave it. I have my computer hooked up through my stereo and now the battle music and combat sounds just pulsate through my body. I now admit I enjoy most of the Space Empires IV music.

Best of all, SE4 will play any music CD you put in.
Well, that is to say, it will play it as well as it ever plays the music, which in my experience is always patchy, flaky, and unpredictable..

I wish I could hear sound. I completely lost all music around Version 1.27 or so for some reason, and I have no idea how to get it back short of a complete re-install of the base game, then applying the patches.

With all the cool stuff, including a Map Editor, coming in the next patch, you should have enough reasons to wipe our your SEIV install and install from scratch plus the patches.

Re: I\'m beginning to crave the SE IV music...
Why are you guys saying "patches", plural?
The patches have all been differential, rather than incremental. That is to say, you can simply install from the CD, then apply the latest patch...
To give an example of an incrementally patched game, Q3F (Quake 3 Fortress) was until very recently like that. You had to install Q3A, then the Q3F Beta 1, then beta 1a, beta 1b, beta 1c, etc, all the way through the current beta 1h Version. Now that was a pain! Thank goodness the Q3F team finally got smart and created a differential patch, that could be applied to the original retail Version of Q3A.
