Default Air Entry Bug?

Hi - Another bug it seems - I've noticed that the Air Entry settings are 'shared' between the players and not separate. If one player changes the setting, the changes sticks in the opponents turn as well...

This was when playing a PBEM game, when the strike I had set to arrive from west came from the east - my opponent had his airstrikes arrive from the east. I now have to double-check the air entry settings every turn to ensure they have not been altered.

I've also tested with a regular 'hot-seat' battle and it seems to occur there as well. Not sure how playing against the AI would affect it- maybe the AI has it's own air entry assigning.

I think this was introduced with v2.0 - can't remember this being a problem in earlier battles...

We'll look into it in the next week or so.

It's always been my SOP to check air entry/egress every time I plot an airstrike.

I had some time to dig into this one today. I loaded the last DOS version of the game and set up a hotseat game where player 2 had air attacks scheduled to enter from the lower left and leave the map to the lower right then tried to set up player 1 air strikes and the Air entry settings for player 1 showed what I had set them for player 2---to enter from the lower left and leave the map to the lower right.

Then for fun I loaded a copy of SP2 and set up the same test and got the same results so this is nothing new introduced with the patch. This is and has been standard game behaviour since the beginning. As I said in my previous email, It's always been my SOP to check air entry/egress every time I plot an airstrike and it's what I recommend everyone do as well.

Ok - thanks for the clarification Don!

I think I had the behaviour confused with another SP game I'll make sure to check the setting when plotting air strikes from now on.

The way this setting works has always been a point of uncertainty for me - Am I correct in assuming that the setting at the moment I PLOT the attack is the one obeyed, NOT the one at the turn the package arrives? If the former then it's only a matter of checking before, if the latter then it's a more serious issue as we'll have to check every turn that it hasn't been changed by the opponent.

By the way, any chance of implementing the separate settings in a future patch?
