Retrofit in PBEM games
Has anyone noticed a problem with retrofits not being carried out in PBEM games?
We are currently in a game and at least two of us have suffered from this sporadically. I can't seem to find a 100% fix, even retrofiting one ship at a time.
Any ideas?

Re: Retrofit in PBEM games
You can only retrofix a ship if there are minor changes being done. If major changes are being done then the ship can't be retrofitted.

Re: Retrofit in PBEM games
I have noticed that when you retrofit it apears not to have occured when you give the order, as it isn't executed till the turn is procesed, the same way mines are launched from a planet with remote launching.
I also noticed you can only retrofit to one type of class (or so it appears)

Re: Retrofit in PBEM games
I have noticed the same problem. I have just started playing simulatious games and I am not familiar with how everything goes. The retrofitting seems to be the hardest to figure out.
I think, although I am not sure, if a space yard is building something then it will not retrofit a ship. And you can only retrofit one ship per turn at a shipyard. And if we are talking about a planetary shipyard, then the planet cannot be constructing anything at all or the retrofit will not happen.

Re: Retrofit in PBEM games
You can retrofit multiple ships, but i can only get it to work if they all get fitted to the same class. I believe the culprite to be the order screen, when you order a retrofit you select the ship to be retrofitted then hit the retrofit button and select the class to retrofit to, if you then go back and try to retrofit the next type of ship you wipe out the previous order to retrofit.

Re: Retrofit in PBEM games
Well, I was trying to retrofit my little Rage I ships to Rage II ships. Small escorts. The only change was uranium cannon I to uranium cannon II. My planet that had a full construction que never retorofitted a single ship, wether I told it to do one or multiple.
My other planet would only retrofit one at a time, no matter how I instructed it to do it.

Re: Retrofit in PBEM games
I have found that you can only retrofit ONE ship a turn per planet in a PBEM game. This includes un-mothballing and scraping as well.
It seems that you can only do very limited actions during a multi-player game.

Re: Retrofit in PBEM games
Hi!
To aussie gamer:
yes you're right with this....and it's very annoying, as you need years to retrofit a 20 ship fleet or so. sure you can split your ships and refit them at different shipyard but that takes very much time as well.
i currently build base shipyards all around my planet(one in each sector), so i have specialized "retrofit systems", hehe
