Default Got a few questions

In the pics I see the number of guns listed but not the
gun weights or whether they are carronades or long guns.
How does the game represent these guns?

Are merchant & gunboat classes in the game?

Are snow/rain/fog a factor in the game & can vessels be
damaged by weather or blown ashore?

Can forts actually be invaded or just bombarded from offshore?

Thanks

Mark

Mark:

Thanks for those excellent questions, unfortunately Ill only be getting half of the answers right. The correct answers for the other two questions is on the books for future development, but for now.

a) Gun types, weight, and other factors are not directly modeled in Salvo. Using Double Shot at close range does a good job of approximating carronades. The actual list of armament does not detail the exact guns.
b) Merchants & Gunboats, Yes. Along with fire ships these vessels add a little color to some of the scenarios and battles.
c) Rain Snow Fog. Fog and visibility are crucial to many of the Salvo scenarios, but rain and snow are not factors in the current game. (Drat- Looks like Im slipping below 50%)
d) Forts are not invaluable in Salvo. In the design of the game they are intended as a fairly impregnable piece that can not move. It is my hope to full reconsider this decision for the future.
