Couple of Questions on WP and Satellites

Ok do these facilities and satellites group together to for a group of components?

Does it make sense to create some WP with shields and armor to provide protection for the other platforms on a planet?

Does a single satellite or platform with Religious Talisman provide the special targetting capability to the other satellites or WP on the planet or in the stack.

Does the order of the WP and satellites in the stack or on a planet impact which ones are damaged or destroyed first. For example would a couple of WP with shields and Armor provide protection for other WP further in the stack on a planet?

Any help would be appreciated

2 - Shields and armor protect only WP itself. Damage to WPs is applied to unit in stack, which is choosen randomly and shield points are not not a significant part in the formula. So heavy shielded WP will not attract hits to itself, it will be harder to destroy such platform - that's all. It's wiser to put some shield/armor to each platform instead.

Thanks question 1 was basically asking if the satellites or WP group together to form a entity. Obviously your answer shows that they do not.

Will have to spread out my talisman satellites and WP. captured them from an enemy so I want to get the most bang for the buck.

WP's and satellites are totally separate. Satellite "stacks" and WP "stacks" are not linked in any way. The only *slight* exception to this is when satellites are unlaunched. They represent another target for incoming damage to the planet; this damage might have otherwise gone toward a WP. IMO using satellites for this is not a very bright idea and unlaunched satellites don't fire their weapons.

edit: note that after the v1.91 patch, WP's are hit before other stored cargo/units.
