Who is your favorite SC?
I'm asking who everyones favorite SC is, because I'd like to run a poll. So, I don't really need duplicates or explanations on this thread! I'll take all the responses and put them into 1 question.
My favorite SC is Pazuzu (the bringer of storms!).

In terms of power, a VQ with wished magic and power to the max would probably be at the top of the heap.

My favorites are the SC's that I kill with a magic item I forged for 2 gems, wielded by a 30-gold independent commander.

Re: Who is your favorite SC?
One of my favorites is a Tartarian summoned thru the gate which has 3 earth and 2 air. Give him a fire shield, copper-plate, fire brand, lucky pendant, boots of speed, air-spirit helmet, and anti-magic amulet.
Script his spells in order depending on the threat:
Air-Shield -giving 80% avoiding incoming missles
Summon Earthpower -giving reinvigorate-4
Iron Will -- giving super high magic resist
Invunerability --giving 30 protection
Mistform --making difficult to hit
This allows him to be immune to all elements and poison, with 80% for avoiding missles, with reinvigorate, with 30 protection, fire and lightning attacks, ..... the list goes on and on.

Re: Who is your favorite SC?
I though I was everyone's favorite SC...
In-game, though, I like cyclopses and Bune. Of the ice devils, only he (without empowerment) can self-cast luck, body ethereal, astral shield, and astral weapon. And he's only marginally weaker, stat-wise. Those 4 boosts allow you to kit him out with a full set of equipment ignoring ethereality, luck, weapon damage/armor piercing ability, charcoal/vine/eye shields, making him the best in my view.
Edit. As noted below, I mean Bifrons. As for Mind Duel, I've never encountered it in a game...

Re: Who is your favorite SC?
I'm guessing that you actually mean Bifrons the ice devil with 2 astral, IIRC.
But doesn't that 2 astral leave him really vulnerable to Mind Duel? That sounds like a pretty big hole in an SC to me.
As to what I like ... If we are talking about crazy no limits on gems kinds of pretenders then I like some kind of immortal ( probably a VL ) who has wished for power and wished for magic a couple of times. I like the immortality since even if *somehow* your opponent is able to kill him ( unlikely ) you don't lose 1000 astral gems that you have invested.
If we are talking about normal cost SC's then I like the AQ's and the IDs. Both are dandy.

Re: Who is your favorite SC?
I equipped a Tien Chi immortal hero as an SC and sent him into combat (alone versus a huge army, but in my dominion)... and he got mind-enslaved =) Immortality is not perfect. I can't remember how respawning worked after my immortal got taken by the enemy.

Re: Who is your favorite SC?
If you've done the research, and have both the death-7 and nature-4 (GoR) casters, it's hard to beat Tartarians for their sheer hp and other base stats, their frequently useful innate magic (and the earth/air guys are fixed), full set of slots (for the humanoids), zero enc... they're not ethereal, immortal or flying (other than the Manticore Monstrum) but they're very, very buff.
Among uniques, Ambicephalos the Ettin Mandragora deserves a nod for good base hp, decent stats, three hand and two head slots, sleep vines, and recuperation.

Re: Who is your favorite SC?
For non uniques I've had good success with the tarrasque (GoR'd). Put 2 of the following on him:
amy of resilience
immunity ring
regen ring
luck charm
Don't use him on undead.
I don't intend to put "wished up VQ" on the poll, but VQ will be there.

Re: Who is your favorite SC?
Yeah a VQ with these or even more Pathes as starting magic is still my most loved SC :
It is only an indy expansion SC though , storm + eagle eyes or aim + dust to dust and ... .
But you can expand quickly and then summon AQs immediately .
