Default What is the best way to make gunboats for SEIV

I want to add gunboats to the game but I'm not sure the best way to do it would be. They will be a seperate tech requiring medium fighter tech. I don't want them to be a seperate class of ship but rather an off shoot of fighters. They will be launched by gunboot bays. This is what I have in mind. Any suggestions? I was inspired by the Starfire series.

They will be launchable by any normal fighter bay.

Although what Fyron said is true, you might want to add an extra component that takes more space up then Fighter Bays and call it something Launch Bay. Also if you are planning on makeing that I would also suggest you make some larger components for the Gun boat itself, as it would be strange to see a gun boat with a fighter cockpit and life support for a ship that is suppose to be a larger warship

Could you just modify Drones, and use them as your gunboats?

Would work, but they would be unstackable, and can't be fleeted...
