There is very little more annoying..
..than completing a turn, pressing end turn..and realizing that you forgot something important. Wee, now I have to do the entire !@%$ turn over.

Start saving the game before you hit end turn. You can save mid-turn now in simultaneous move games.  |

I usually save my turn before doing the Messages, which I do Last every turn due to the message bug(s), and because of the silly fact that Messages cannot be edited or deleted.
