Abysia: Who to prophet, Anathement Dragon or Demonbred ?
Hi everyone, i just started a new PBEM game and choosed Abyisa. Now im thinking about which leader to turn into a prophet. I guess the Anathement Dragon will be the best, due to this already high holy level. What do you suggest ? Im playing against 2 KIs, one human ermor and one human man. I think the Anathement Dragon would be the best bet because he could most propably banish the hell out of ermor.

I really like the A. Dragon for prophet with Abysia. Very good at banishing; even better, the Holy-5 lets him cast Smite, which is a very good way (early on) to get into the Hall of Fame and possibly get a great ability.

I tend to favor "ability first, prophetization later". The heroic ability is somewhat of a grab bag, and you're more likely to end up with something useless than anything good.

Re: Abysia: Who to prophet, Anathement Dragon or Demonbred ?
I'd pick a Demonbred, Slayer or Salamander over a Dragon any day. The first one because he's tough and flies, the 2nd because of his stealth, the Last one because he's the cheapest way to get Fanaticism and Divine Blessing - which are much more important than Smite to me. Dragons are horrendously expensive, and the few I can muster always have better things to do than leading my armies or strenghtening my dominion.

Just a thought:
Making a prophet out of a Warlord creates the UberWarlord, who gains a set of battleaxes (9 0 0 3) in place of his default axes ( 7 -1 -1 1), and with the dominion hitpoint and strength bonus, becomes a pretty decent thug.

hm i would appoint a rather unimportant but useful leader like a scout that you can send on a suicide mission after a couple of turns when you e.g. can summon your first ice devil / arch demon and make one of these then a prophet

Why would you want to make IceDevil a prophet for Abissia? They are best at raiding enemy provinces and annihating small armies, meaning they will operate most of the time behind enemy lines, if you are planing to wage agressive war. In such situation being prophet becomes major weakness, since it deminish both their hitpoints and fighting abilities.

Re: Abysia: Who to prophet, Anathement Dragon or Demonbred ?
I usually start with the Warlord.
It gives a non spellcasting base unit able to sermon of courage, and bless, not bothering the Anthemaths eventually I use to support conquering to cast sermons/fanaticism on troops.
Unless you won't commit your Warlord on fight, while a warlord prophet could too with some eq const-2.
This probably ends his real usage when indies turn off.
Second choice is the A.Dragon.
He can flare by default, with +2 Aim could be nice.
He get 5 priestly levels, so he can blood sacrifice 5 slaves/turn (or 7 with the Jade Knife), in case of need. (and I often find it useful to dominion push or spread heat).
Big Devils could be good to prophetize only if they've great mobility, like those with astral magic (teleport). You could have good defensive big guys. Considering with Abysya you can blood sacrifice, your prophet should be exploited.
