A few more Soul Gate Ermor questions
1 - Using unholy priests to call dispossessed/shadows/apparitions, it seems that sometimes not all the units show up in the quantities they should, based on the table on the manual. Are there any other requirements besides having the corpses for apparitions or unburied for dispossed?
For example, I had my U5 prophet and Etimmu the U3 hero calling apparitions in a 5K+ underwater province, and *none* were showing up. Apparitions can go underwater, so I don't think that would be the issue.
Another case with the same commanders, in an above-water province, only 3 apparitions showed up, but I should have gotten 4.
In other cases, I've had several U2 priests calling dispossed in a province with (I think) 50+ corpses, and only get maybe 6-8 dispossessed spirits.
Are the numbers in the table for calling undead an upper limit on a random amount, or are you supposed to get the same quantity every time? Does you domain impact how many units you get when calling?
2 - Does having unholy priests calling in a province impact the amount of auto-summoned units you get? Several times I've noticed that in a very high domain province that I have a batch of calling priests, I barely get any auto-summoned units, sometimes just the called ones and nothing else, for several turns. Then I move the unholy priests out, and suddenly the province is spitting out 7-8 of those spectral legionaries.
3 - similar to #2, I have a 8-10 domain templed province, with an unholy summoning site that lets an unholy priest summon a shadow and shade per turn. Now, 6 turns later, the province has 6 each shadows/shades, and nothing else! There doesn't seem to be any auto-summoning happening. Does using the site prevent the regular spawning for some reason?
4 - I know that provinces without a temple or castle only spawn dispossessed spirits, and you get more things with a temple, and more with a castle. Do the castle ones need a temple as well?
Do labs have any effect? Do any leaders besides the U2 Tribune ever get auto-summoned?
5 - I love the disease effect of apparitions. I've noticed that units grouped with the apps pick up the disease attribute. I know the disease doesn't harm the undead, but I'm wondering if it's actually useful: Does having the disease mean that they, too can spread it, or can only the apparitions spread the disease?
Is disease spreadable in general? Can a living unit diseased from starvation spread its disease to other units in its group?
6 - Does anyone know what the exact effects of the unholy spells are? It seems that the unholy priests cast "unholy power" (I think that's the one - I can't check now) constantly, even if the sepulcher Version has already covered everyone. Does the effect only Last one round (so it needs to be constantly recast), or do multiple castings stack up?
7 - Which would you prefer to use as a thug or SC: Bane Lord or Wraith Centurion?

I've noticed this bug(?), as well, particularly with apparitions.

Ditto.

Nope.

Yes. On phone as I type this. Have someone else tell ya.

Immortal Wraith Centurion, hands down. Make great prophets, too.

Re: A few more Soul Gate Ermor questions
I'm not one of the Ermor experts, but I have done a little SG.
One thing that confused me for a bit was that commanders reanimating often get the results of their animating added to one of the units they're already leading. Looking at the 'free' / garrison troops, it wasn't adding up correctly, until I noticed the troops the commanders were leading swelling.
( I think that if the commander has no troops, they go in the pool; otherwise, they're added to the first stack of units he's leading. Very obvious when you have magic troops and then undead start joining them. Or, with CW, militia / satyrs and carrion bunnies joining them. )
On the spells - remember that most of the ones that affect the whole battlefield are affected by magic resistance, hence the lesser Versions will still get cast at the ones that didn't already get better MR / movement / strength from the other spells.
