feature adds
does anyone else think it makes sense for a ship yard to have the ability to launch fighters, mines, and sats?
i mean, it can launch a dreadnaught but it cant launch a fighter. it can launch a starbase for cryin' out loud.
also, does anyone else think it makes sense for medium and large mines to get a resource discount to make them worth building? maybe make their hulls cost no more than small mines since they are at a big disadvantage being easier to sweep?
how about a mini-religious talasman for fighters and troops? it would be handy for those of us who take the TO HIT % down to 50 to exploit those talasmans.
I have done all these for my dataset, except the mini talasman which i thought was just too cheesy. let me know if anyone else thinks they sound worthwhile or ballanced.

Re: feature adds
I think shipyards should be limited to planets and bases only.
Ships should only have repair bays.

that would definitly change the gameplay. you could make the SY component 1000KT, it would then only fit on baseships, battlestations, and starbases. you could not put one on a DN or starbase. I would of course expect it to have slightly higher construction characteristics then, still not equal to a planets, but then it does not get planetary bonuses either.

Re: feature adds
That would make it impossible to build Ringworlds and Sphereworlds

The two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago.

Re: feature adds
You could always change the size of ringworld/sphereworld components to fit on a baseship, or make a bigger ship size.

Re: feature adds
I did this in my own data set already. I did not change the size of space yard components. I just changed them in Components.txt from "Vehicle Type := Ship\Base" to "Vehicle Type := Base". I then changed the size on all the ring/sphere world related components to 1300, so they will fit in a base ship.
