Magic site searches
Hi,
I'm EVER so greatful that you can tell how well a province has been searched from the province summary. That's just a great, great feature.
Now, if one of you Elder Gods could tell me how high a searcher has to be in a magic school to find every site? Thanks mucho.

Re: Magic site searches
In Dominions I, it was level 4 in a couple paths, and level 3 in the rest. But new sites have been added, so...

Thats not considered to be a good idea. The new game might mean that some of the tried-and-true formulas might need re-tested but here is how it went in Dom1.
1-magic: well if he was standing around waiting for something anyway then he might as well search
2-magic: not a bad idea as a searcher. Will find most of the sites
3-magic: if you can spare him from other duties. The 3magic sites arent very common but they can be very nice to find
4-magic: this guy has better things to do. But if he is with an army and standing around then sure go ahead and search
There are spells for each type of magic that are fairly cheap in gems, and can be cast by low level mages. Those are considered the best bet rather than move around a high level mage. It keeps the mage in a lab where he can shift duties quickly without having to run home.
The Acashic Record spell finds everything of all types in a province. But its cost makes it a debate on whether or not to recommend it.

Re: Magic site searches
Gandalf,
What are the really high level sites? Is there a listing of them somewhere?

They were all found and documented in Dom 1 (not by me, Im not that patient). I dont think Dom2 has it yet butIm sure the same people have already started working on it.

Re: Magic site searches
In dominions I, only fire and astral had level 4 sites. With a search level of 2, you have already 75% of them which can be found.

Re: Magic site searches
A lvl 10 magic site would be so cool though. Especially since at level 10 nothing could find it, not even the search spells.

Re: Magic site searches
There is a level 10 death site.
Jimmy Hoffa's Grave
Any mage that finds it disappears under mysterious circumstances and the grave is then moved to a new location.
