is there limits to how much u can add to the txt files,such as components and tech area,cos ive added loads to both and now when i research smaller weapons and a few others it says expected results none where as it used to give me the smaller weapons,OR did i just mess up somewhere.lol.

Must have made a mistake in the files as you can have many, many levels of research.

Check for double breaking lines. Sometimes that will do it.

Sounds like the old double-blank line problem.

If you get two blank lines in a row in your datafiles, SE4 treats that as the end of the file.

Handy for debugging, but annoying when they appear by accident while copy-pasting.

ok another problem,
when i add a new component it shows up fine apart from when i try to add it to the ship/mine,the mini picture u see there isnt there,its just a blank spot with the name of the weapon,it will still add to the ship/mine but its bloody annoying,

Sounds like you've got a bad image number in your component.

If you're trying to use imagemod pictures, be sure you DON'T have a pictures/components folder in your mod.
