Default OT: (poll) - Imagine: It\'s a Party...Who to Invite?

OK, so it's my Last night of drinking (getting too old!). What better way to end it than thinking about a big party?

BIG question, who would you like to be there?

I've put together a list of the people I'd like to have an all-night party with. Up front, as is usual in my polls, I will forget to list a name and the best I can do is offer a "write-in" vote. And, as usual, no affront meant to anyone!

Since I put together the list, I will automatically count my vote for everyone but the rest of you only get to choose 10 ( ...suffer!).

To illuminate your "write-in" vote, post a response and list the person(s).

I'll post my reasons for each one on the list as soon as I get the list compiled (gimme a break!).

PS: I propose we have "this" (fictional) party at Atrocities' place. Lots of room to move around, and after we all (or most) get drunk, we can take care of his "problems" across the fence once and for all )!

Glad to see I made the list, but I can't think of a single person I wouldn't want there.

* Baring certain people who weren't on long, and didn't leave on there own power.

Default Re: OT: (poll) - Imagine: It\'s a Party...Who to Invite?

OK...

Atrocities - Voted for him because that's where the party is (duh!). Besides, there is no shortage of excitement opportunities with him in attendance!

Geoschmo - Besides owing him an invite because of PBW, he will be the, hmmmm, voice of reason at the party. Everyone will listen to him BUT, he will be able to participate at ANY level the party gets to).

"Narf" - Well, we need a class clown there! Someone unpredictable. But someone that everyone loves. (besides, I want to know if he's seen every episode of "Pinky and the Brain".

Gryphin (and Poo Star) - Well, what can I say? I like the guy! Turned his life around and found a wonderful woman! He should be there. And his fiancee' (sp?), too. Besides, if Saber Cherry turns out to be a loss (see below), at least we will have ONE female there .

Alneyan - My French friend. I want to see if he can quit reciting formulas and party. BUT, the danger is that he will launch into a multitude of diatribes and digress ( ) to the point of boredom...though I doubt it. (and I can always pump him for tips...hehe)

David E. Gervais - First thing I will do is try to convince him to get a kewler nick! (just kidding) I'll need someone there to chat about graphics with. And, methinks he CAN party a bit .

Primitive - Well, every party needs a bouncer. Besides, he MIGHT show up with some really kewl Norwegian (OK, slap me 'cause I can't spell it!) girls. And we know the party will eventually gravitate to females! (might get some game tips, too)

Fyron - I'd like to see if he can party. Really! And I'd like to see if he will show up without a laptop. (with WIN2K on it... ). I'd like nothing more than to see him drunk and discover he has Windows ME on his home PC... But, we need a bit of intellectuality (is that a word?). Nothing wrong with that at a party!

Mark the Merciful - Well, every party needs a member who is from the UK. He's a kewl guy and I think he can party well. Besides, after a few bitters, I might be able to get some tips!

Stone Mill - Do we really think he looks like Elvis? Or will he just show up with his MP3 player full of Elvis songs? Perhaps we can depend on him for dessert (donuts and nanners). (more possibilities for tips on gameplay, too )

Tesco samoa - The future of PBW. (gotta invite him!) Besides, who else needs to have a time to party? He's going to step into Geo's "shoes" and run PBW. Been helping out lots of ways before this offer. Inviting him to see what Simon is really like and to thank him for his generosity.

Thermodyne - Well, any party of SE4'ers will probably degenerate into a desire to hop into a "hotseat" game. With Fyron's laptop, Atrocities extra PCs, and a few donations in HW, Thermodyne is my vote to get us a network up and running so we can play a game of "take a drink for every fleet loss in battle" game. (evil grin)

Gandalf Parker - Don't know him well, but he seems like a combination of knowledge (appropriate for an SE4 party) and party person. I suspect he has a few stories he will part with after a few 5.9's (well, what can I say...Milwaukee Best is the highest alcohol content here in Georgia and cheapest).

RexTorres - One of the best players around. Solid player. NOW, can he party? I'm going to doctor a few of his drinks (which I will suitably call, "destroyers") and see if he will spill a few tips. Alternately, will love to see if he will challenge Alneyan to a game (so I can watch it).

Grandpa Kim - Gotta have someone there my age. Besides that, he supported my Ratings suggestion. He's "laid back" and, I suspect, just waiting to party with us.

Wardad - NO party is complete without someone with an endless supply of jokes. Now, don't get me wrong! Atrocities can regale us with an endless supply of stories (really!) but there is no substitute for jokes when you're drunk!

Parabolize - Well, this is more personal. Gotta talk to the boy and see why he isn't higher in the Ratings! He's got style, he's got playability. He's got micromanagement down to a "T". Gotta figure out why he can't win more. (I'll share tips I get from Rex and others...hehe)

Aaron Hall - Well, let's be serious! I say we get him drunk, take some pictures of him in the "Gryphin Position" and blackmail him into incorporating ALL our suggestions into SE5! If unsuccessful, we can always hope to see him with his "hair down" and perhaps get a few clues on SE5 development!

Saber Cherry - Well, what can I say? I've wondered just what kind of person can get 58 votes in the forum with only 1300+ Posts. I'm wondering if this identiy is really a female. And if so, does she merit that many votes (perhaps someone has seen her)? Or is it just the name that makes us dream of her as we fall to sleep?

There! You have it. I have not mentioned all the names (due to space) but I would like to see others there as well. Asmala, for one, but I suspect he would NEVER part with his secrets. (besides, he's too busy keeping KOTH running, going to school, and kicking ***!) I like him, though...I've never asked a question of him that he didn't share his knowledge with me. (perhaps I should invite him and see if I can get him drunk and get even MORE tips on mastering SE4)

PS: For those who suspected I may have mentioned, forgive me...well, I've been drinking. Of course, I won't wake up and find out I posted a story as bad as, *who was it* (?) Master Belisarius or Baron Grazic. (drat! I'll have to do a search somehow...'cause a LOT of us were llaughing about it... )

In general I don't partisipate in this kind of thing as it might come across as a popularity contest but i did vote for myself and
Poo h Star.

Oh, and thanks to everyone else that did.

Hey Gryphin, do you still use any IM programs? How about logging on to #se4 again once in a while? You are missed.

Slynky, I am too poor to afford a lap top. And yes, I can definitely party. And as for these accusations of Windows ME... I have never actually even used the OS...

And, I apologize for that...

It was a poll partly in jest and partly in truth. For, IF there ever was such a party, these are the people I'd like to share it with.

You know, I used to be acitve in Mechwarrior. I wasn't great but I was OK. I was in a clan, like many many others were. We developed a bond. We shared a lot of things...personal things. AND, we desired to meet with each other if it was workable and possible. And, I did on 2 ocassions. I traveled a few hundred miles to meet with others in the clan. That was realy kewl!

So, though I post this list in fun, I really would like to see some kind of meeting develop somewhere. No one, especially those from out of country (USA), would be willing to come to Georgia but we (wifey and I) have access to a cabin on a lake. It sleeps 10 or so. I'd love to get a group together to have fun...but I'd never even attempt it.

Fire on, er Fyron, < My Bad >
I use YIM: Gryphin_Rampant
I have mIRC but it is just tooo much for me to keep up with.
I use Mozzila. How's the IRC client?

Other than that I have to admit I have not touched SEIV since soon after EDIE came out. I'm currently working on a collaboration to Mod EDEE and it is not even out yet.

I love SEIV. I really do. I just don't have the inttellect to keep up with it.

Here's an exapmple of how I think:
Without checking
How many Canadian Provinces have the same abriviations as US States?
How long did it take you to come up with the answer?
It took me less than 10 seconds yet there were 40 something people with Masters Degrees in the room who doubted my answer.
If you know the answer don't please don't post it.
I am curious. What is the thought process others used to come up with the answer?

Some of us forum guys in or near the Toronto region got together for a baseball game Last summer and hope to again in a couple of weeks. It was lots of fun.

LOL...

I didn't know about your monetary status...and as I'm sure you (and others) can determine, it was my feeble attempt at levity. I just wanted people to like the poll and laugh a bit.
