Null-space weapons vs. temporal weapon
I was wondering if the null-space cannon's damage is any different than the temporal weapon that skips shields and armor. THe damage type is listed as the same: "Skips shields and armor" - but the null-space cannon does more damage and goes like twice as far, so I figure that there simply must be some difference, otherwise there would be no point to the temporal weapon!
Thanks!

Re: Null-space weapons vs. temporal weapon
They are essentially the same weapon but I'm pretty sure the temporal weapon costs less to research making it easier to get at than nullspace weapons. But yes there is not point really.

The Temporal Shifter III can do 50 of damage and the range is 4. Cost 500 Minerals and 200 Radioactives.
The Null - Space Projector III can do 60 of damage and the range is 5. Cost 1000 Minerals and 1000 Radioactives.
The point with the Temporal Weapons are the other weapons... not the Temporal Shifter that's a near to useless weapon (like the Null Space Projector!!!).

Re: Null-space weapons vs. temporal weapon
Then I have another question for you - do you play temporal technology often? The only reason I ever play it is for the space yards. The only temporal weapon I ever use is the shield accelerator cuz it outranges the standard shield depleter.

Re: Null-space weapons vs. temporal weapon
I play Temporal most times. And for me, the Shipyards are the biggest draw, but the Tachyon Cannon is my second choice. With almost as much damage as a Wave-Motion Gun and a reload rate of 2, it becomes very effective anti-ship weapon. I primarily use it on Weapon Platforms. Most ships have to get into, and stay in range of these to do a planetary attack. Unless the attacker has enourmous numbers on me, this is quite effective.
As for the Temporal Shifter, I only really use that against Organics.

Re: Null-space weapons vs. temporal weapon
is this referring to solitary or PBW? or both?
the reason i ask is cuz i've never seen the AI mount a decent planet assault, so if you have, i wanna know about it!

Re: Null-space weapons vs. temporal weapon
Late Game TDM Modpack, High Difficulty, Max Bonuses.... It Hurts
I always play Temporal with my main race. And Yes The Spaceyards, Tachyon Cannons and Shiled Accelerators are pretty cool.
Although that weapon (Time Distotion Burst, you know the one that does 4x damage to shields) is extremely useful on fighters and troops

Re: Null-space weapons vs. temporal weapon
Edit: Double Post, I havn't done that in a LONG Time...
Although, Temporal becomes really nasty if you add Hardy Industrialists to your Racial Traits, Combine it with another Racial Trait and things get obscene...

In multiplayer games, think is not so easy try to play using special traits... because you must survive until you could take advantage of it (IMHO).
About the Temporal Tech itself, think not only the space yards are usefull, because the other 2 facilities are very good (the combat bonus are great defensive facilities, and the happiness bonus are the best in the game). Also, think excluding the Temporal Shifter, the others weapons are very good (although expensive to research).
Finally, about AI attacking planets, well, for sure the SEIV AI never will play like an human player. But as Raging Deadstar said, using TDM, High Difficulty and Max Bonuses, sometimes you can get a decent challenge.
