Default Potential players\' multiplayer questions...

Could someone who knows all the ins and outs of SE's multiplayer features give me a thorough, detailed run-down of those features?

I really enjoy these types of games (Spaceward Ho!-ish), but have played several play-by-email games before and found them to be a serious pain in the butt - especially in the beginning when turns are so short.

I have a LAN, but no one else is on it but me... :> What are my other options?

I remember in a review on gamespot they mentioned something about starting a game host which could wait for other player turns or something like that. Is there something like this? If so, please describe in detail.

Given the conversation I've read on the board, the game is obviously missing some serious multi-player features... which is surprising in this day and age, given the game market.

I really enjoyed the demo, but prefer playing games remotely with my friends rather than taking on any AI.

I will not buy this game if LAN or play-by-email are the only multiplayer options. This in mind, will I be buying this game? :>

Please help. Thanks.

Yes Comrade,

Email is a bit outdated..and i surely dont mind long games to be saved..but played 3-4 hours a time with diehard opponents. A TCP/IP option is needed to link up people.

i dont mind even waiting 10-15 min for people when the get started. would be worth it in my opinion.

i do hope they work on that issue. I doubt any game no matter how good it is can live long with AI, no AI can replace a human. (at least at this stage of technology)

I concur, Comrade

PBEM and hot seat are the only multi-player way to play this game. There is no real time play. The faster you can upload turns to the host the faster the game goes.

shameless plug: the play by web host at seiv.admiral.com takes alot of work out of play by email.
