I don't have the icons up at my house because I've set the Proxomitron to block off site images. If you haven't specifically done that, maybe some sort of server block is in effect offline?

When I had icons visible, sometimes they loaded slowly when the Cache was flushed. So maybe your image Cache is full and you've got some setting preventing it from loading new images.

Or something.

It might be a memory issue. When was the Last time you did a cold boot of your computer? As used here, cold boot = turn computer off, wait 20 seconds, turn computer on. A lot of Windows programs have memory leaks, and that could cause the problem you are observing. A cold boot should fix it temporarily, if it is caused by memory leaks.

Yes, go to Tools menu, Internet Options, Advanced tab. In the 'Multimedia' section there are options that control display of images, playing of sounds, etc. Check the settings there.
