Default Flippin Around

A question for you experts... and maybe modders...

One part of the game that takes away from my awesome 'gaming experience' comes when I want to go through any idle ships and give them new orders. So I use that 'next ship' button in the upper right cornre. It goes through every ship, regardless whether or not it is idle. No biggie. But, what bothers me, is that it feels the need to go through every ship that is part of a fleet. This is irritating. I want to go through the ships, but when I hit the fleet, I have to click 15 times to get through to the next single ship.

Is there an easier way to look at my idle ships, or scroll through the ships? Maybe someone made a mod for this! What are your thoughts?

You might try "stop at each location once" option, aviable from the Empire Options.

To view idle ships go to "Ships\Units", "orders", and then click on the "orders" list to ships to be sorted by their orders. those without any will go to the bottom. or you can just see which ones dont have orders there, too. There's also the option with show fleet/ships/units.

Hope that helps.

Oh...wow... look at that...an option that says 'Next/Previous button should skip ships in fleets'.... if it was a klingon it would have bit me.. Go figure... now it ignores fleets... which is no big deal since there is a fleet button the does let you scroll through fleets.

Interesting side note... in that description that I copied from the game (ABOVE), it says SHOULD skip... they were not very confident in that button, eh?

lol no, i guess it works like list of orders. Should in this case is used as an order verb.

It says Should but it has never failed me. I use it and never once has it stopped at a fleet when it's told not to.

Actually, ships without orders are sorted as if their orders said "None". "Retrofit", "Seek", and "Sentry" all come after the ships with no orders.
