Default Trading Pl ... er ... Planets!

I've traded a Medium/Rock/Methane planet to the Phong for a Huge/Rock/O2. However - it only shows 6 available facility slots. I assume this is because of the Phong colonists. Can I move the Phong to another planet ot what can I do (if anything) to get the full potential of the planet.

Then I'll trade you an aggie for a purie ...

yep, just remove the colinists and replace with your own. You will then have the available slots

Do you remove them by loading them onto a population transport or a colony ship or how? And does that get rid of all of them?

Can these then be used to colonize another planet or what do I do with them. Can they be repatriated to their own kind?

Yep, ordinary cargo transfer. Put at least some of your 'native' breathing race on the planet, then you can move all of the CO2 breathers off. When no more 'non-native' breathers are present the available planet space will be full sized instead of domed.

No you cannot 'repatriate' them unless you want to 'gift' a transport to the Phong with them onboard. Using them to make a CO2 atmosphere planet 'undomed' is much more productive anyway.

Yup, you've stumbled upon the most (IMHO) important micromanaging manouver of the game. If your empire can gain 'citizens' that breathe another atmosphere, then you can move them back to the core of your empire and swap them for your race. In the process, your planets cease to be 'domed' and approximately triple in terms of the number of facility slots!! My wife always napalms alien planets and then brings in her race, but I make it a point to 'aquire' an inter-racial Confederacy as soon as possible.

If you use them to colonize another planet, add troops to keep an eye on them. I had a planet rebel once when the original empire entered the system.

If you DON'T want them you can always throw them out an airlock!
