White ones and reincarnation

Is it flavor text or is it also a mechanic? If it is, how does it work?

I don't know how the mechanic works. I have had some Guru's reincarnate as a Brahmin. In that case I received a message that the commander has died and reicarnated.

I can't give any details other than the commander was a researcher. I don't remember if the commander was diseased or not, or whether the commander had simply reached old age.

I have not seen this happen as a result of being killed in combat.

I want to know what happens if they rejoin the godhead or whatever.

Supposedly that increases the dominion in the province they die in. (I've never seen it happen myself though, I have yet to really play any of the monkey nations.)
