Question Aircraft Altitude Change

Hello all, newbie here to this forum First thing, I'd like to thank the developers for their hard work on the full screen fix, it's working perfectly on my WinXP PC THANK YOU Now for the question that I have not found an answer for anywhere (game manual, forum threads, etc). Can you change an aircraft's altitude in the download version of the game and if yes, how? I've tried every screen and I have not found any changeable item for altitude changing? Thank you in advance for any assistance with this issue

You can only change the altitude of helicopters, not fixed wing aircraft.

I guess aircraft are not really under the Battalion Commander's (your) control. They're just an asset you have on call. But you have more control over helicopters.

Left click (select) the helicopter, then right click (or press the space bar) for the Unit Information window. Top right of the unit information window you can select the altitude for helicopters.

You have no control over aircraft other than making the initial 'plot' to get them onto the map to do their sortie.
Certainly you cannot alter the height they attack from.

Helos on the other hand can be controlled by you like any other unit. Their is a tab in the unit screen where you can land, go low or high.

Edit: Oops, didn't see Cross' response before posting mine.

I was about to reply also, then i saw Cross already nailed it.
I'll just add,the navy, airforce take info on targets to be hit, then go about it the way they see best,
User only has full control of the Army and arty and others assoiated.
Although you can direct which direction you want air to attack,or plot naval guns you dont really have supreme cmd of all branch's in this game.

I pretty sure strike aicraft will fly lower than med. bombers and high level bomers will always fly high, that's why they are trained to do why try to change that?
Take into the fact micro managing every miltary branch would be a major pain in the ***.
I'm happy to let the flyboys do what they see best
