Would a Mother of Serpents be useful? She could have a retinue of useful indy/summoned mages, and periodically take a Heal Troops order to keep them healthy. Or would she have to do that too often to make it worthwhile?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "she could have a retinue", but for me her main attraction is the free spawn horned serpents. The healing isn't horribly useful, but it can help on occasion.

Belac's meaning is (I think): Stick the SQ in a province with any tasty indy mages you have, and do some healing every few turns to stop them dying of a bad case of C'tis dominion.

Precisely. Of course, that would mean that they would be in high dominion all the time, so she might have to heal them too often to make it worth it.
