One of my favorites as well. He recycled a lot of his plots and characters, but part of the fun was watching what incarnation the same guys would appear in.

Yeah. The Belgariad was pretty much my introduction to modern fantasy novels, and I have many fond memories.

Yeah, I wasn't too familiar with his work, but I read about this in the newspaper. They weren't sure about whether it had been suicide or accident, though.

I really liked the Belgariad in my formative years, although I struggled to appreciate anything after. Irrespective, it seems like he was genuinely one life's good guys, so it's sad to see him go.
