Sooo... I was LA-Rlyeh jumping a live commander with a bunch of undead ganas. MR 12 in a +mana province. Easy meat huh....

Soo I crowd forward, script a bunch of 'control deads'..

The computer *never* even casts one. Not once. Instead it blows 24 death gems cutting fatigue on nether bolts.

Two other funny things. Some of my dudes start mind blasting the undead - instead of the *only* living thing in the province - well - other than me of course. In direct contradiction to the tip that pops up all the time to the contrary.

Even funnier. It works.

Lastly Somewhere I had picked up the belief that morale 30 units don't route.

And I'm not talking routes due to army morale. Or routes due to loss of relevent commander. Or even routes due to hp loss.

Routes due to frighten, cast by one mage, for ages.

I might be wrong but: I think frighten reduces morale so he wouldn't have been 30 at the time of route. Click on the unit to view the morale changing after each frighten.

Mind Blasts and Soul Slays can affect lifeless/undead units, just not mindless units. Ganas are not mindless, just undead I assume?

control dead is very short range - 20. Are you sure they were in range? Shadow bolts are range 30... Frighten also has a good range.

Wait, Frighten routed Morale 30 units? Weird beyond belief. I've never even seen them take a Morale hit from Fear effects.

Not all undeads are mindless. Some can be mind blasted.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...

Aren't Ganas basically monkey Ghouls? Morale 18-ish, non-mindless undead units, a bit stronger then human Ghouls? I wouldn't be surprised if they routed from mind blast and frighten.

Yes, no, no no and yes.= )

Sharks are morale 30 - and they are the ones that routed.
No, I wasn't in range of the control dead - With 25 units the size of the map was just large enough to put me right outside range 22 - crowded full forward.

And after running forward mages would rather engage in hand to hand than cast that spell vs mr 8-12 undead. Was just wierd.
