Vets Semi-Blitz
So, Von Altair got me thinking about this with his Fast Noobs game.
I wonder if it would be possible to run a fast Vets game, similar to a blitz, but with actual host times.
We could start it on a weekend, say, Friday night. And have 12 hour autohost. That would be like 5-10 turns over the weekend, if everyone was keeping up. Maybe more. Then, Monday, we could switch it to 24 hour host. And it would stay at 24 hour until we get really serious.
I think it sounds like a blast. The quickness of a blitz game, without the constant pressure to get your turn done in 5 minutes.
Of course, everyone involved would have to have a free weekend to start it off.

Re: Vets Semi-Blitz
There's games for vets and games for noobs, and even games for vets versus noobs.
I've been paying too long (since Dom 1) to go in the noob games, but I'd get crushed in a vet game, so what I need is a game for people that have been playing longer than most vets, but who still get their a*ses handed to them by most noobs. Maybe I'll start one.

Pussies.
Just wanted to see if that would get through the forum filter.

Re: Vets Semi-Blitz
I think you should just do a game that adheres to a strict 24 hour timer even into the late game. I can't think of anyone that can realistically stick to a 12 hour timer, especially if it's quick host.

Re: Vets Semi-Blitz
You are probably right Jazzepi. 24 hour would be more realistic. I was just trying to get the blitz mentality into the game.
