Default Design Contests, Tournaments and other ideas!

Skirmisher's WinSPMBT v4.5 Tourney thread got me to thinking. It seems like it has been forever since there have been any tournaments, design contests, etc here on these forums. I have floated an idea or two but response was limited (in the WinSPWW2 forums). Being busy with the SLII Campaign I don't really have the time to run a real tournament or an extensive scenario design contest but I have thought up some things that people might like to join in on.

Here is what I am thinking of going with (1 of them) if there is enough interest;
1) vs AI Tournament (Actually a Campaign) - I am currently playing a 10 Battle Campaign using a Soviet Motorized Rifle Battalion (BTR) based on the OOB from FM 100-2-3 (The Soviet Army Troops, Organization and Equipment © June 1991). I have selected the date of August 1986 and for opposing forces I chose West German, US and France. I am using the maps Marek designed for the SLII campaign and redrawing the VH for each battle to match mission objectives based on what I think would be a good fit for the story in my head. I will purchase my OOB (will post the exact TO&E in another thread if there is interest) to match the one in FM 100-2-3 and start the Campaign. Before deploying for each battle I will import the appropriate mapsheet, set up all the VH's based on the mission concept in my head, purchase Support Units and will then save the file. Since I am not picking the Enemy Forces I have no idea what the AI is going to pick. Each participant will be sent the file (with their "Orders") for the battle. They will load up the Save Game and play it out versus the AI. Once finished each player sends me their End Game file and I record the results (in points). Since its a Campaign, to get the setup for the next (and all consecutive battles) I will use MY Campaign Game files to create the #2 - #10 battles. I will pick another of Marek's maps in his set based on the ideas running around in my head (and the options given in the campaign generator), set up all the VH's again, purchase Support Units, save the file and so on. Basically everyone plays the battles of the campaign with my forces BUT with their own deployment so how you approach the mission is of your own plan and actions. The person with the highest total score at the end wins (me not included of course).
2) Scenario Design Contest - A small Scenario Design Contest with a set OOB (to be selected by me) and a pre-selected map. The design and story behind the scenario is up to you as is the enemy force, you just have to start with the preset Map and OOB and take it from there.

2) OTHER - If you choose this option PLEASE post your ideas in this thread.
If the options generate enough interest I will expand on them, each in their own new thread.

I think both 1 & 2 are a good idea it makes a nice change to go with forces given rather than buying them. For point 2 design I wnt to look at this but presently time constraints restrict. Need to sit down & make sense of waypoints properly as my brief flirts time consuming & often do not achieve quite the effect I was after. Could just be a bit thick mind.

One of the reasons I chose the above is that the US, W. German and French forces will be in the SLII Campaign so this is a good way for me to test the new equipment in the Soviet OOB against those forces. If 10 is too long I can go with 5 scenario's, I just figured I would have some "productive" fun while doing the testing and it will give everyone a chance to see some of Marek's map work.
