Default Backwater Engagement

U.S. sends six cruisers to patrol Aleutians and come across a small IJN task force making a land grab.

Although the IJN is outnumbered 6 to 3, one of the IJN three carries 14 inch guns and a 7 inch belt. A very interesting engagement; size DOES MATTER....a lot....especially absent the CVs. Note some damage to IJN ships was delivered by Aleutian air prior to surface engagement.

Default Re: Backwater Engagement

Actually seems about right to me.

American light cruisers didn't pack the punch that the Japanese CL's did (because of their long lance torpedo). Even a pack of them would be hard pressed to take down a Japanese Battleship before being blown out of the water. It's also useful to think about the range difference. Even though the game doesn't show it, the Battleship would have started firing and scoring big hits long before the Americans got in range.
