many steps required to patch Mac version of Dom 3?

I am setting up a game for a couple of friends. One of them uses a Mac. He told me that when he installed, he had to do many steps of patching to get to 3.21. We're running into a "cheat protection" bug and I both think it may be because he got the patching wrong. Is it actually the case that he has to patch in many steps, or can he, as with the PC version, just patch with the 3.21 and be done with it?

I'm leaving for a week, and it would be wonderful if some kind soul could offer some sage advice here so I can resolve the problem before I leave in the AM...! :0

You only need to patch once using the most recent patch.

Installing the patch itself is three steps. Move the application and patch to the desktop, run the patch command, then move the application back to wherever it was. It's very nonstandard for Macs, but it works smoothly. There are lots of Mac people reading these forums, so post any trouble your friend has.
