Default A quick modding question (pretenders)

I know you guys must get questions like this all the time, but I searched and lurked the forums and couldn't find the specific info I needed. What I want to know is, what are the commands to put in a mod to make a new pretender? I think I know how to use the edit unit commands and edit a monster's stats, abilities, etc, but what are the commands I MUST add in order for my unit to be usable as a pretender? Assume I want to make this pretender available for MA and LA R'lyeh, if that's necessary info. Sorry to pester you guys with elementary stuff like this, but I'm not an experienced modder, and the modding manual is helpful, but not exactly user friendly. Thanks in advance for any help I may recieve.

EDIT: In case anyone with the same problems as me finds this topic, I figured out the problem in my post at the bottom of this page. You have to make a different instance of the pretender for each nation you want it to be a #restrictedgod for. Just posting this in case any other new users might need this info.

Here is one to reference. The easiest way to answer most modding questions is to download a couple of mods and study the .dm files. 99.999% of all answers will be there.

Thanks a lot. This should get me off on the right foot. Great tip, using the .dm files from other mods as an example. I feel a little dumb for not thinking of it myself!

#pathcost and #startdom turn a monster into an available pretender.

Thanks, Edi, those commands should narrow it down for me nicely. I'm now getting my test mod pretenders to show up in game. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to use the #restrictedgod command for more than one nation, doesn't seem to be working right for me (but I'm probably doing it wrong. not sure if I should put the different nation numbers in the same command, or if I need a separate #restrictedgod command for each one). Still having fun with it, though, this game has a LOT of potential for creative mods, hopefully someday I actually become competent at it!
