"Turn Style: Turn-based movement may be used for both multiplayer and solo play. Simultaneous movement may only be used for multiplayer gaming."

What is that ? Am I missing something ?

Sequential-turn is available for single player and hotseat multiplayer.

Simultaneous turns is available for all modes of play.

Ya, both turn-based and multi-player strategic movement modes can be used in either single-player or multi-player. The only thing that can't be done is to combine simultaneous strategic movement with "tactical" battle resolution (where one or more humans control ship moves during combat).
