Default Modding wierdness

I keep running into problems when modding two of the pretenders. The Spearwielding version of the Asynja (#995) and the ***** Queen (#401).

When I activate the former she's available to all nations, and she brings a "buddy" in the form of a (random?) unit pretender,
with her magic picks and dominion. I guess I can let her be a restricted choice, but I hoped to use the Asynja for more then one nation.

The latter seems to be a pain to mod "properly". I want to change the crone shape, into a younger durable warriorwoman,
but this also seems to alter the Crone pretender sprites. Using #clearspec removes the ***** Queen as a pretender option.
I'm sure I'm missing an obvious solution here.

As far as the ***** Queen goes:

The modding manual mentions that if you choose #selectspr and then change one of the sprites, all units using that sprite will experience the same change. The game must be doing that. So take the crone sprite from the extracted sprites list, give her the crone sprites, and give ***** Queen the new sprite. That should work.

I don't get what happens with the Asynja. Is there another unit as a pretender option? Are you sure that isn't just a forgotten " from description or forgotten #end or something that makes the game a tad confused about what it's supposed to do?

Thanks Endoperez. But no dice I'm afraid. I already tried your approach, or atleast I think I did. You meant the #spr1 and #spr2 commands right? That still changes both "crones", and the game goes with the sprite that's listed last in the mod. Oh well... was no big deal anyways.

Is it possible to work around this using the #firstshape and #secondshape commands?

You got it right about the Asynja. Just to make sure there was nothing wrong with her entry in my mod I cut & pasted her right into the top. The problem with the "buddy pretender" vanished. I have no idea what could have caused it, but it might have to do with me working with the document in Open Office rather then Wordpad.

I think it's exactly the same problem that you'd have if you used #copyspr and then changed the sprites.

You could #clear Crone, or the crone-form of ***** Queen, and see what happens. If you get it to work somehow, duplicate the stats of the one you had to clear. If it's the ***** Queen, #secondshape might or might not be the command used for the shapechange.

Thanks for your help Endoperez. You're a rock.

The solution turned out to be embarrassingly obvious. I simply made a new unit, put the custom sprites on it,
and used the #shapechange, #firstshape and #secondshape commands to swap out the "crone" for the warrior.
I have no idea why I didn't try this from the start.
