AI unit selection.
Is there a way to force the AI to make a selection of a specific 'group' of units?
I.e. I'd like for the AI to have a force that's composed of 50% armored vehicles, 20% infantry, 30% aerial support(aircraft, choppers) etc.
Is there a way to sorta tell it to select these kinda general selections?

Re: AI unit selection.
No.
There is a button to select "AI tank heavy" where you give it a hint to buy a bit more armour, should it have the points available (when it buys a tank platoon, if it has the points, it will buy another, and where it buys infantry by the company, it will buy a platoon instead, generally).
The AI buys from the AI pick list - try a search of this forum for that, as the Excel spreadsheet and destructions are available here somewhere, and also read the Mobhack section on AI pick list. However, none of that is "beginners" level hackery.
Cheers

You can mess with the picklists but it requires some dedication, the easy way is to do the purchase for the AI just by turning the "purchase" button to human.
The only gripe with this method is that youll know what to expect, but believe me that after some battles dealing with hordes of foot infantry you wont care; as a matter of fact it will be your most likely option.

Anytime
Using this simple method you can begin to experiment with AI formations, and even you can over purchase particular type of forces for the AI if you start to feel it has become too easy; adding more arty or armour than yours for example, check the game manual for allocating the AI a larger point ratio.

Robert
