Default AIs and black holes

I'm hosting a humans vs AIs game and out of curiosity I checked out the 2nd overall ranking AI's empire which I'm going to war with. To my amazement I saw fleets after fleets of 30-ish ships falling this black hole right beside one of my systems! If these ships actually jumped through to my place they could have easily overwhelmed my WP defenses and wreck havoc in my flank!

I would love to know if the AI in SEIVG does better than THAT!?

One time I made a Black Hole Guardian ship. It was loaded with Engine Damage weapons. I had lots of fun with them. I guess the AI doesn't cut it's losses and toss the slow ships out of the fleet.

Try making a blackhole base:
Take a starbase hull, put on an MC, repair bays, and TONS of the beefiest armor you can get.
If you have over 5000 hitpoints, and enough repair to fix that every turn, your base won't be harmed by the hole!

AI ships that venture nearby to attack will get sucked in and destroyed

The hardest part will be in completing a starbase in three turns. You need to bring lots of repair ships, and do a long retroseries up from an empty starbase hull.

In one pbem game I used some blockade runners to get a human play to chase after me with a huge fleet.

Little did he know I altered the warp point from one that went to my system to one that openned 1 space away from the black hole centre.

Needless to say his fleet came in stopped explored the new system and was sucked in and destroyed.

There was much laughing and making fun of afterwards
