Well, if side effects are accessible, you could create a spell that kills one of your own units (or the caster) and then summons something.

This obviously would not be permanent, the monster would vanish at end of combat - and I don't think the new monster would show up in the same place but I could be wrong.

Presently it is impossible but that it at least possible in principle.

He means just make a Niefel riding an ice drake a national summon. No-one is going to question where the niefel came from and you can give it gold cost to represent upkeep.

or just make it recruitable, but if its summons you want, make it a special kind of niefel that needs to be summoned, cause its a hunter of the long dead fire giants or some such and carry s one of the mythical ice blades! that requires magical gems to create, be creative.

I kind of was thinking the same thing, but I figure it would be such a powerful spell that I'd rather it required a price in terms of gold/resources.
