You need to summon a fairie court or cast gift of health or forge the Chalice artifact, otehrwise you're out of luck. If your pretender is undead, the chalice is your only option.

I wish people bothered to actually check the forum for the same topic. There are no less that FOUR topics on how to remove afflictions on the first and second pages alone, and constantly repeating the same things starts to be really goddamn annoying after a while.
