The book is a pale comparision of the first 4 books , it's just not as " tightly " written , and even though I enjoyed some of Steve White's previous books you can tell it was Dvid Webber who fleshed out the battle scenes in the other books

As I pointed out before it was David Webber that took the head of StarFire while under the ownership of Task Force Games. It was Webber that turned the game around and saved it from becoming history. The battles and technology match the books and the games because the same man had has hand in both. White is no Webber... period!

I don't know about that. White was Weber's successor as the Starfire guy at TFG (or at least writer of the Starfire column in TFG's house magazine "Nexus"), so I'm pretty sure he's quite familiar with the game mechanics as they stood back then. Meanwhile, I wouldn't call Weber's "Starfire III: Empires" the best Starfire product in the history of the franchise...

I never said he wasn't. I'm not sure what your point is with this. Editing Nexus is different than overhauling a fading game.

And I didn't; when and where did I say anything like that? Although it is far better than Galactic SF will ever be.
