Map Maker's Walkthru

Has anyone created a walkthru of creating a map from scratch.

I have modified random maps with no problems.
Everytime I try to create a map and save it as TGA, the Map Editor creates a file with many (I cant count them) flags all stacked on top of each other. What are the parameters for the tga files?

If flags are stacked on the map then you might have used too much white. Pure white (255,255,255) is the marker that the game uses to recognize provinces. Try changing all of the white in the map to a light grey, then go thru it and manually add pure white dots in the middle of each province.
