Understanding dominion
Could someone help me understand some of the subtleties of dominion? I get the spreading from the manual, but I've learned in separate posts that temperature picks don't have any effect underwater and that enemies do not receive positive bonuses from your domain (and vice versa). What else is there to know about domain which is not in the manual?

Re: Understanding dominion
Your troops also get +1 morale when in friendly dominion and -1 morale in negative dominion. Additionally, some dominions have special effects like C'tis miasma (currently broken) which diseases non-cold blooded units or LA Ermor's undead generating dominion.

Re: Understanding dominion
It majorly pluses (and minuses) your god and your prophet. Be very aware of your dominion strength if you move those around a lot. People have killed off their gods by moving too far ahead of the spread of their worship.

Re: Understanding dominion
Another dominion mystery: Some games I find my dominion spreading like crazy through the enemy space--I just one won while I had about 1/3 of the map.
Other games, with just as many temples, the line on dominion is at about the same place as the border. What's going on? A high-dominion pretender seems to make *SOME* difference (why should it matter that much once you have enough temples to get the max up to 10 anyway?) but it's by no means the only explanation.

Re: Understanding dominion
AFAIK, dominion plops are not created based upon your current max dominion. They are created based upon your starting dominion.

Re: Understanding dominion
Also, the AI (or human!) enemies might have chosen low dominion. Temples spread dominion and stop enemy plops (or something like that), so the number of temples you and your enemy have also matter.

Re: Understanding dominion
Ok, that makes a lot more sense.
