Default secondaryeffect?

Hey folks in the mod manual it has only a table which says that it says SOME of the possible effects and its indeed not really giving many effects... so how do one can figure out the rest of them?

Oh and I know that the tartian chains enslave someone when they hit him, so how can I make a weapon which does the same for example?

All special effects available for weapons are done as weapons. So there are weapons named Small Area Fire, Small Area Frost, Halt Sacred, Halt Demon, etc. In DomII, fans eventually completed lists which included all weapons and all special effects. Tartarian Chains is in DomII, so the special ability it used is somewhere there too, and you could look out for it and then use it.

Another way to do it is to check the name of the effect Tartarian Chains causes (Enslavement), and then mod Enslavement as a weapon to some unit, and then press Shift+I to see the unit's ID and all it's weapons' and armors' IDs. I did just this, it took just few minutes (but then I already had test.dm ready. I usually keep Wish as Alt 0, S1 spell that takes 1 pearl, and sometimes add other spells to the list too. ATM it changes Wish and Gift of Reason, and gives Enslavement weapon to Son of the Sun [386]).

Enslavement - 189

The only thing that could cause problems is spelling. I Wished for Tartarian Chains, and I got them - but I couldn't have wished for Tartian chains, or chaains, or tartarian weapon, or enslavement.

Additionally, when I viewed Enslavement weapon, it only showed Damage: Death. Any damage number of 1000 or more is shown as Death, for understandable reasons, but I guess some spesific damage numbers cause special effects.

Ah thank you very much.

So for new effects I can for example look into the manual under magic items and see what effects they have and then use them on my own stuff I guess. It also gives the right names at the same time! ;P

Hmm and then there is this map with all units who exists so I can check them out too and take the "weapons" I need.

Too bad though that I cant simply cast wish and wish for a list of all effects...

See the "Weapon effects?" thread farther up the forum for a link to the Dom2 DB, which lists all of the weapon effects.

Right now I'm working on the Dom3DB and it will be some time yet before it's finished. But when I'm done, it will have all weapons in the game as they should be. As of yet, I'm still doing national units (EA done, halfway through MA nations) and noting bugs and discrepancies as I go.
