Help, I lost my files.
AAAArgh!
Help, I lost my AI files that I have been modding for the Last couple of days.
Here is what happend:
1) I modified one of the standard races in the TDM-modpack folder.
2) I ran the Beta update4 for TDM this morning. This of course replaced my own files. D'oh!
3) So no problem I *thought*, they must be still in the trashcan (which they were). I tried to restore them. However, this did NOT replace my files back into the folder. The old ones are still there and my files were removed from the trashcan.
Is there any way to get my files back? Please don't tell my they are lost. Many hours of work have gone into that .
I am still hoping there might be somewhere as temporary files or whatever, but I couldn't find anything with the windows search function. I am using Win95, btw.
Please help, if you can.

Does anybody know a free program that can be used to recover lost files? I couldn't find anything good so far .
Thanks,

Re: Help, I lost my files.
Thanks Atrocities,
I already looked there. Found some programs, but no success in restoring the files, yet.
Guess I have to start again from scratch .
Damn, these files were 99% finished.

Re: Help, I lost my files.
The far out way is to pull your HD and slave it to a second machine. Then access it, as all files should then be visible, even one you deleted. Might work, then again..........

Hmm, yeah, that is far out. I have decided to stop griping and waste no more time on any recovery attempts. Instead I will try for a speedy recreation of the files while my memory is still fresh and I can decipher my notes . Only two of the major files were lost. Although there is nothing more boring than doing the same thing twice, maybe I can make them even better this time.
Thanks for your suggestion, though.
