I sent me empire file choosing just two racial traits as instructed, but were we allowed to adjust the aptitudes and stuff? I didn't so I may want to revise that if we can.

I didn't think there was, but then I thought afterwards that I might be wrong in my assumption and then at some sort of disadvantage afterwards when the game started.

I'm not sure yet. It started freezing up all my SEIV games, between all the computer restarts. I'm not sure I can find any errors

Our SE:III mod game (Space Empires III #1) needs a replacement player - we're only 4 turns in so you still have an opportunity to put your mark on the available empire!
