replaying logs

I've noticed lately that when I try to play logs so I can see where every ship moved it says it is unable to because it can't save the temp\<gamename>currturn.gam. I don't believe I've seen this before. I make sure to save the files in the savegame directory. Am I forgetting something or have all the games changed to deluxe and this is something new?.

Check if the temp\<gamename>currturn.gam file is set to read-only.

Well there was no temp folder. I faintly remember when I was clearing out old game files I might have deleted the temp folder, thinking I created it to hold stuff. I copied the backup folder to my se4 folder and now it doesn't cry foul about being unable to save, I just get the old current log unavailable message. Guess from now on it should be ok, once it establishes a turn log.

Edit: my latest game seems to be working ok.
