MP Battles
Does anyone know of, or have screenshots of any vet battle screens particularly the first turn.
Playing against the AI will be very different than playing aagainst real people, and the AI is pretty retarded about troop placements, so I am more than a little worried I am not maximizing my efficency.
Wish you could search for imbedded material or attatchments.

Re: MP Battles
Just think of how you would best arrange your troops, then think that your human opponents will likely do the same.

Re: MP Battles
Well, I for one am fond of the "all my guys lumped in the center of the screen, and then I go [censored] after I hit the "host" button" tactic. I find it especially effective with fire, cold and poison-radiating troops, ideally some of each.

Re: MP Battles
*grin* Think the only ones of us who haven't " been there, done that, said [censored!]" are the ones who haven't yet used troops that radiate those things.
For those who haven't yet : don't worry. Sooner or later, your one sage with water magic will cast Breath of Winter and kill every single sage that was clustered around him due to default placement after recruitment. Really helps your research.

Re: MP Battles
LoL....I have done that a couple times...mostly with troops that I had no clue radiated anything. Last game as ulm I lost 8 commanders because I set the "Nature summoned dragons" to guard commanders because I knew I was facing flyers.
Wish - LoL. I wish it were that simple. The reason I asked is I came across a bug querry, don't know if anyone saw it...it was the one asking why their imps attacked a certain target, when he had their orders set to "Attack Rear". That screenshot made it clear I had no idea what I was doing.

That's not you, that's the AI. Even though flyers should be able to attack whatever they're scripted to attack, they don't. Just as cavalry on the flank will ignore their orders and often swerve to attack whatever is up front in the middle.

Re: MP Battles
Yeah, attack rear is weird. Not sure if it means the rearmost units on the battle field or the rear of the first group. I've heard some people say they do a morale check for every group they pass, and if they fail, they will attack them... sounds odd but who knows?
Even with that, attack rear can be useful at times.
