Modding a God
I'm wanting to mod the Divine Emperor of Pythium, but am having the darndest time figuring out -how-. I've downloaded a few other 'god mods' to try and get some inkling, from the files, as to how, as the modding guide is no help whatsoever in this regard ... but no luck. I take it I need to know the 'selectmonster' # for the Pretender? Can anyone tell me how I would find this? I've scoured the boards, but haven't found any useful info, so any advice would be most appreciated!

Re: Modding a God
Get to the unit information screen of the Monster then hit "I" (Yes capital I, it won't take lower case i) and it will display the Unit number as well as current equipment (weapon and armor) numbers.
Also Edi has compiled a DB I believe with all the numbers, it's around somewhere try looking on Arryn's Site as it's usually hyper-up-to-date.

Re: Modding a God
Thanks for the quick answer! That's just what I was looking for. One small, problem, though ... the modding I want to do seems to trigger the cheating protection. Now I play purely Single Player. Don't get into MP at all. Is there no way to disable the cheat protection so that I can create and play my Pretenders exactly as I wish?

Re: Modding a God
When you create a game, you can disable cheat protection for that game (in the screen with independent strentgh, victory conditions etc).

Re: Modding a God
In addition the cheat protection shouldnt be triggered if you enable the mod during god creation.

Ah, so *that* was the condition. I knew there must be some way to use modded pretenders in multiplay, but as I have never had to find out how it works I just solved it by disabling cheat prot for my singleplayer games.

Re: Modding a God
Well, leave it to me to overlook the obvious. Thanks, Turin. Now I can play my truly Divine Emperor with impunity.
