Think about it. The event will ALWAYS happen, on the same turn, every time you play the scenerio. Which means (barring somehow getting the "unstable star" ability to work) that he had to set things up, and keep advancing the clock (with everyone set to human control and not doing anything) until he got the event he wanted. Not quite save/reload/repeat, but similar..
Hey, woah there. You are assuming a bit much. If you want to know, this is what happened:
- I decide to play a game as a neutral empire.
- I build up my empire with the "neutral" restriction in mind: Ship capture tech first, then monoliths and nature shrines. Organic + Crystalline level 1 for the crossover tech.
- Many battles at warppoints and planets, while I build up planet creation tech and look into Atmosphere converters.
- Message: Plasma instability.
- I think "Crud. There goes my game"
- The next day, I think "Hey, this would be a cool scenario!"
- I write up my vision of the empire in the "minister meeting" for the first turn, and package it all into a scenario.
- I upload it, you guys download it, and play!
I saved the scenario
after the event happened naturally.
