Marking systems to avoid?

Hey all.

I've downloaded the SEIV demo, and have been playing it a bit.
Most of the game is self-explanatory, but I can't figure out how to mark systems Avoid.

Could someone explain?

It's on the screen that shows you how much resources you have stored and how much you make every turn.

Can't remember the screen off hand, but that should help
