Default Engine glow problems

Nowadays in Starfury my engine glows are just big glowing white orbs.

Like the image above shows. At first I thought it was because of the game and I reinstalled it. The problem didn't go away.

Then I thought that maybe it's my new ATI drivers. Sid Meyer's Pirates! did have some problems with them. So I uninstalled them and still the problem stayed. Then I removed all my display drivers and reinstalled them from the CD that came with that display adapter card. The game has worked fine with those drivers before. But now, no help.

After that I thought that since I didn't remove the Starfury folder last time I reinstalled it maybe there's something that doesn't get overwritten. So I removed Starfury again and then installed it...and no results. Same problem.

Have you ran into any graphical problems with the game? What display adapters do you have? I have Ati Radeon 9600. Any suggestions on what I should try next?

You might just need to move the engine glow points backwards a little, and make sure that their RGB values are reasonable.

But they should work normally in the stock game, right? They are same white orbs (with every ship) and even if you decrease/increase speed it had no effect to the glows.

What version of the drivers you using? ATi released some new ones a few days back...
If the latest don't work, try finding ones that you know worked.

Does it look like that on other machines?
Perhaps a reinstall of SF would fix it. (Backup your campaigns first!)

Instar, SJ, he already tried both of those methods.

Have you tried fiddling with the graphics settings? Especially the Video Memory setting? Try setting it to Safe.
