Pair of newbie questions
I searched but didn't find any definitive answers:
1) Can lightning spells (Orb Lightning, Lightning Bolt) be negated by a target's MR?
2) If I give a Firbolg a longbow his Enchanted Spear still shows up on his weapons list. Does this mean he's able to use both weapons? For example, if I set him to "Fire" on enemies will he switch to his spear if he's engaged in melee?
TIA

Re: Pair of newbie questions
1) those are just damage spells. only lightning resistance should protect you.
2) hmmm. the spear is two-handed, so i would think that the spear shouldn't show up. dunno. try it and see

Re: Pair of newbie questions
If you give a unit a two-handed missile weapon, it will show up as an additional weapon if they have less than four weapons, and they keep their default melee weapon. If you give a unit with a missile weapon a hand weapon, the missile weapon often disappears (e.g. Harbinger's Heavenly Horn, vanjarl's javelin etc)

Re: Pair of newbie questions
Yeah, the Firbolg definitely keeps his Enchanted Spear and the bow shows up as a new weapon.
Thanks for the info.

Re: Pair of newbie questions
Be careful, though:
At the very momement he runs out of ammunition, he'll switch to melee weap and charge the enemy without switching target prefs ! (Lighting bow e.g. has only 10 "shots" IIRC ...)
So if you set him to fire at "large monsters", he'll head straight for them afterwards ..
