Default Stats for Atraikius

Currently doing some 'general' playing of se4 (all ministers on, just 'watching' to see how AI does) and have included your most recent Zorians and the Orks. Just thought I'd let you know how they are doing.

Low tech cost, med spiral galaxy. Med tech start. 9 races and now at turn 50.

Stats: 1st:tdm-Xi'Chung: 90 techlevels, 49ships, 420 units, 4 systems, 23 planets.

2nd: StarWars Empire2(my AI): 96tech levels, 38ships, Battlecruisers, 625units, 6systems, 21planets.

3rd: StarWars Empire3 (myAI): Battleships, 32ships, 699units(512 fighters), 12 systems, 50planets, 91tech. oddly enough, no built defense ships.

4th: Orks: Battleships, 88tech, 4 systems, 22planets, 25 ships, 9 bases, 1570 units!!!, but still using apb II as main weapons on most ships.(design flaw??), have not seen troops on ships other than troop transports. Space stations with cargo storage have both satt's and fighters on board (but no way to launch). Level 4 fighters.

5th: Pyrochette: 89 tech, 23 ships, 4bases, 3systems, 19 planets. 386 units.

6th: Y'Gathian Free States (my AI): 58 tech, 4sys, 18 planets, 28ships, 396 units, cruisers.

7th: Zorians: No storage message fills screen most turns. Battle cruisers, 31 ships, no ships with troops, LOTS of fighters, apb II's still main weapons??, 4 systems, 15 planets, 803 units, 8 bases, 77 tech level. level 3 fighters. level 7 missile.

8th: StarWars Rebels (my AI): Battle cruisers, 15 ships, 6 systems, 17 planets, 600 units, 83 tech, level 3 fighters, a number of warp points have fighers stationed there, WHY??(did not think AI could do this).

9th: Rage: 84 tech, 4 ships, 1 base, 2 systems, 3planets, 109 units. definitly hammered and stalled.

Thanks for the info - I had overlooked the APB completely as I typically use low tech starts, both the Orks and Zorians use DUC's until later on when they finally research APB, when I have them research additional low cost techs so that they reach level 5-6 in them fast, Have to fix that. Currently they do not have cargo on attack ships, but they should eventually include the troop transports in the fleets. The No Storage the Zorians are getting is because I forgot to adjust thier bases to have more cargo - which is why the Orks have fighters and troops in cargo - did that for planet overflow. The number of units is about right, they build quite a few carriers and eventually build a lot of troop ships so I had to have the numbers high so that it wouldn't take forever to fill them.

Once again Thanks - the APB info was a big help.

(Edit) - The fighters on warp points comes from a carrier taking damage or being destroyed. The remaining fighters then try to resupply at the nearest resupply base (typically in a different system) and get stuck on a warp point. They continue to attempt to fulfill thier original supply orders even after a resupply base is built in the same system.

no prob. I have found that your combo for the Zorians (most warships carry fighters and missiles) quite good. If facing point defense the pd fires mostly on the missiles, leaving the ship open to fighter attack.

Turn 69 update: Orks have surged ahead to 2nd place, Zorians have secured 5th. The Xi'Chung are getting scary with 77 ships, 907 units and fleets of 16+ ships (most others have fleets of 7 max, 4 generally). They have 40 planets to the Empires(emp3) 57.

Some of the real enjoyment of this game has been to watch the orks/zorians trade insults with the other races and each other. Quite fun to see the Zorian dwarf tell Darth Vader just what to do with a goat. .

Mr. Atraikius,

I really like your Zorian graphics, so I'd love to try your Orks. Problem is, I don't know where to get them. I've looked in the mods forum here and on Hyperion, Kuat, Universal and probably some others, but can't find them. If you could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

On another note, I wish that Shrapnel would put the mods in on their own link page for download. For some reason, my IE 5.5 doesn't pick up all the download links in the mods section. Netscape 6 picks all or most of them up, it's hard to tell. Sigh. I've uninstalled/reinstalled a couple of times to try to fix this, too.

Anyhow, thanks for your hard work in making these races. I intend to try a race myself as I become more accustomed to modding. I've already messed with several of the txt data files.

I've only just started on the Ork pictures, but had been able to get the Orks to drop troops on planets so I posted them on the AI advice needed thread ( http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/For...ML/002698.html ). They only have the default ships or gorn ships from star fleet command, but I would like any feedback on them available.
