Machaka Background

Hi I recognise the historical/mythological background of most of the themes in the game but I have no idea about Machaka - could anyone fill me in please?
Even the internet is not much use searching for it.

I just read a novel featuring Baphomet of whom I did not realise the significance before so I am sure there are other little touches elsewhere too.

Machaka - either a Bantu weapon, probably some sort of sword or battle axe, or men wielding such a weapon.
